Five arrested in Jamshedpur’s Rohit Singh murder case, arms seized

Jamshedpur, October 20: Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the murder of Rohit Singh alias Chhotu Singh, a resident of Kitadih under Bagbera police station, and sent them to jail. The arrests were made during a raid at a deserted area near Baroda Ghat by the riverbank under Bagbera police station. Those arrested include Babu Bangali alias Sumit Mandal, Raju Hessa, Nitish Rai, Manish Agarwal, and Roshan Gupta.

Rohit Singh was shot dead while sleeping on the verandah of his house on October 14. In a press conference, Jamshedpur SSP Kishore Kaushal informed that a police team was promptly formed after the incident and the team successfully apprehended the suspects.

During the raid, police recovered two country-made pistols, nine live cartridges, three magazines, a bike, and three mobile phones from the accused. Most of the arrested were residents of Adityapur and had a history of criminal activities. After completing all legal formalities, the police sent them to jail.

The raiding team included Bagbera police station in-charge Gopal Krishna Yadav and officers Pawan Kumar, Gyandeep Kumar, Santosh Kumar, Thakur Sachchidanand Singh, Sipul Kumar, and Anmol Kumar.
