Firing incident in Jamshedpur: Youth injured, police launch hunt for accused

Jamshedpur: A violent incident shook Gandhinagar under Bagbera police station on Monday evening when a youth, Popo Munda, was shot at by a local criminal identified as Badal.

According to eyewitnesses, Popo was resting at his home when Badal suddenly appeared and opened fire without provocation. Two bullets struck Popo in his genitals, causing severe injuries and sparking panic in the neighborhood. Locals quickly rushed him to Tata Main Hospital (TMH), where doctors confirmed that his condition was stable and out of danger.

Eyewitness Gudiya stated that Badal fired two rounds at close range, leaving Popo badly wounded. Police, along with DSP (Law and Order) Tauqeer Alam, arrived at the scene shortly after the attack. A bullet casing was recovered during the preliminary investigation.

DSP Alam told reporters that initial inquiries suggested personal enmity as the motive behind the shooting. He assured that every angle of the case was being thoroughly examined and promised that the accused would be arrested soon, with strict legal action to follow.

The firing created a wave of fear in the Gandhinagar area. Local residents remained tense, and police increased patrolling and deployed additional forces to maintain order. The investigation was going on, with authorities determined to bring the culprit to justice at the earliest.
