Jamshedpur: A major fire broke out in Mahanand Busti near Jemco under Telco police station area on Sunday. No casualty was however reportedly in the incident.
Police sources said the incident occurred in the evening when flames erupted at an open place close to the power service station of Jharkhand State Electricity Board. The fire grew bigger gradually, sending local residents into an alarm mode.
Local police rushed to the spot and called fire tenders to douse the fire. It took the fire tenders several hours to control the fire.
Police said the cause of fire was not known as yet. They said they were conducting a probe to find out if it was an accidental fire or the handiwork of some mischief-monger.
In another fire incident, an LPG cylinder exploded on the main road at Sonari. No one was hurt in the incident. The cylinder caught fire after explosion.
Cops suspect the cylinder was leaking or damaged which resulted in the sudden explosion and fire.
