Fire in Malkhana of Dhanbad police station, many vehicles and seized exhibits Swaha

Dhanbad: There was chaos due to a fire in the old building of Mahila Police Station located in Dhanbad police station complex on Wednesday evening. This building was also being used as a Malkhana. Along with the seized exhibits kept there, many autos parked in front of the premises were also burnt to ashes. Besides, the remains of dead bodies kept safe after post-mortem, awaiting investigation, were also destroyed. There is a possibility of burning of about two dozen Bisras.

Here, regarding the goods kept in the Malkhana, SHO Santosh Gupta said that some scraps were kept which were damaged in the fire. The fire department was immediately informed. Three vehicles of the fire department immediately reached the spot and after about one and a half hour’s effort, the fire was brought under control. It was told that the said old building had already been vacated. Later it started being used as a warehouse.

The branches of trees adjacent to the building also caught fire. The cause of the fire has not been known yet. Till late evening, the fire department team and officials of Dhanbad police station were busy extinguishing the fire. The police station does not have information about how many items of the Malkhana have been burnt in the fire. In this regard, SSP Sanjeev Kumar has called for a report from the police station.
