Ranchi: Sahibganj Superintendent of Police, Naushad Alam, was conspicuously absent for his scheduled appearance before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday. Alam has communicated to the ED through a letter, expressing his need for additional time to respond to the summons. In the letter, he stated that he has sought guidance on the matter from the police headquarters and requested a postponement of the questioning, allowing him time to seek advice.
The ED had issued summons to SP Naushad Alam on November 10, directing him to appear for questioning at the regional office in Hinnu, Ranchi, on November 22. The allegations against him involve facilitating a ticket for Vijay Hansda, an ED witness in an illegal mining case, to travel to Delhi, and allegedly instigating him in the process.
The ED’s investigation revealed that Vijay Hansda was required to go to Delhi to present his perspective in an ongoing case in the Supreme Court.
