Jamshedpur, Jan 29: Over two months after the murder of Jagdish Rao in Ramjanam Nagar in Kadma thana area, police are yet to arrest the accused involved in the crime.
This despite the fact that the relatives of the deceased including father of the victim, S Venkateshwar Rao have met SSP East Singhbhum M Tamilvanan and city SP Subhas Chandra Jatt on numerous occasions seeking justice while the cops have only parroted the same line ‘investigation is in progress in the case’.
Significantly, S Jagdish Rao body was recovered from near Kharkai River on November 18, 2020. Jagdish was missing from his locality after the beating and firing incident on November 16 evening. A murder case was lodged at Kadma thana on the basis of statement of the deceased’s father S Venkateshwar Rao in which it was mentioned that Jagdish had a dispute with Kartik Mahali brother of a BJP leader and soon the dispute intensified into fighting between the two and Kartik Mahali informed his brother Ganesh Mahali.
Soon after several youths armed with rifle, hockey sticks, base bat and rod came on SUV and started creating commotion in the basti. After firing, Jagdish Rao along with his friend Rajesh Gope, Sahul Gope, Ritik Soy and Bittu Singh (all residents of Ramjanam Nagar) had fled towards Kharkai river bank. They were chased by Kartik Mahali and his men including Vishal Birua, Akash Ho, Anil Karmakat, Gurucharan Gope.
The father in his complaint rued that his son had gone missing since that night and he had lodged areport at Kadma thana on November 17. However police did nothing to search my son and finally body of Jagdish was recovered from near the Marine Drive on the bank of Kharkai River on Novemer 18 morning.
