Jamshedpur: One person died and 11 others sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle collision at the Judi railway crossing near Hata on Tuesday. The incident, which occurred within the Potka police station limits, involved a speeding car that lost control and crashed through a railway barrier.
The vehicle carried a family from Jhargram traveling to a wedding in Rairangpur. After breaking through the barrier bumper, the car struck a Tata Magic passenger vehicle and two motorcycles.
Local residents assisted in transporting the injured to the Potka Community Health Centre. Medical personnel subsequently referred three individuals in critical condition, including one woman, to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur for advanced treatment.
Potka police reached the site to initiate an investigation and notify the family of the deceased. Officers are currently working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
