Farmers learn farming techniques at one day fair

Jamshedpur, Feb 13: Farmers of Potka were motivated to adopt latest farming techniques to get a good harvest at a one day Kisan Mela organized at Tetla panchayat secretariat on Wednesday. The fair was organized by Samekit Jan Vikas Kendra, Patel Bagan, Sundernagar, in collaboration with district agriculture department. It was inaugurated jointly by the Mukhiya of Tetla panchayat Dipantari Sardar and other guests. Thousands of farmers were present on the occasion. They also participated in an agriculture exhibition.

Addressing the farmers, Dipantari Sardar said the farmers could enhance their income by adopting latest farming techniques for better crop yield. She said the Central and state governments were running a number of welfare schemes for farmers. She further said that the farmers should not depend on the one-time farming but should also pay attention on Rabi farming to get vegetables and extra income.

The farmers were awarded by SJVK and agriculture department. Those present on the occasion included Father CR Prabhu, Father Alwyn CV, Manoj Kumar Sinha, Anita Kumari, Shashikala Mahato, Dharmendra Mahato and Rahul Kumar.
