Farmers to get incentive for growing crops

Chaibasa, Oct. 17: West Singhbhum Deputy commissioner Dr Shantanu Kumar Agrahari held a review meeting of Agriculture and cooperative department on Monday.

DC directed the authorities to act on the new soil testing and Rabi crop plantation government scheme. The administration has fixed a target to cultivate Rabi crops in 5000 hectors of land in the district.

The farmers will be paid incentive of Rs 1800 for per hector for growing wheat, gram mustered in the field under Rice Fellow Scheme.

For which the farmers have to submit application with plot number and mutation number. While submitting report to the DC, the agriculture officer said that the license of urea manure was granted to those who had put up their application.

The DC asked the authorities to ensure groundnut crops cultivation in 4500 hectors and rest 500 hectors should be for Rabi crops.

DC seemed unsatisfied with the progress work of lamps Godown construction as construction in 14 godown has started.

DC asked the concerned officials to start work immediately in other places as well. Present at the meeting was district agriculture officer Shiv Kumar, district cooperative officer and others.
