Seraikela: An awareness rath (chariot) was flagged off at the Sadar Hospital, Seraikela, on Saturday with the view to spread great awareness among the people on vasectomy and family planning.
The rath was flagged off jointly by the Chief Medical Officer Dr AP Sinha, Dr KK Sehgal and Dr V Mardi.
Several health staff accompanied the rath. They will be meeting people and informing them about the government scheme to perform vasectomy operation on males under family planning.
Rs 2000 in cash will be given to those undergoing vasectomy. Dr Sinha said the rath will move across the district following the instructions of the state government.
