Birbhum: A bomb concealed in a scooter exploded on Sunday morning in Sarada village, located within the jurisdiction of Nalhati police station in Birbhum district, West Bengal. The explosion resulted in injuries to two individuals, who were subsequently admitted to Nalhati Block Hospital. The incident prompted a swift response from the police, who arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation.
Preliminary findings suggest that the two individuals were likely transporting both bombs and weapons concealed within the scooter when, for reasons yet to be determined, the bomb detonated, causing serious injuries to both the driver and the rider. Prompted by the incident, local residents assisted the police in transporting the injured to the hospital.
During the subsequent police interrogation and search, a loaded pistol was discovered on the scooter, adding another layer of concern to the situation. The injured individuals, identified as Mukuleshuddin Ali and Sheikh Riaz, both residents of Jaikrishnapur village under the jurisdictions of Margram and Rampurhat police stations, have been arrested by the police.
