Expelled from JMM, Lobin Hembrom joins BJP camp

Hails BJP’s policies, decries Hemant Govt’s blind eye towards Bangladeshi infiltration

Ranchi: Expelled Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislator from Borio Lobin Hembrom joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Assam Chief Minister and BJP’s Jharkhand election co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday in Ranchi.

Hembrom, who was expelled for six years earlier this year after contesting Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from Rajmahal constituency, made the switch at state BJP office in the state capital.

BJP state unit chief Babulal Marandi and former Chief Minister Champai Soren, who joined the saffron fold on Friday, was also present during induction ceremony of Hembrom.

The Borio MLA after joining the saffron fold expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs in the JMM and said, “JMM is not the same as it used to be during Guruji Shibu Soren’s time. Everyone in the party is upset with the JMM due to handful of papers. Current JMM is not the same anymore.”

“Champai Da gave his young age for the party but he also left JMM after series of events which directly disrespected him. When such a senior leader is not respected. How do you expected others will be given their due respect for the work they have done for the party,” added Hembrom.

Recalling his days with JMM Hembrom added, “I was with JMM since childhood till 2024. But see how the party treated me.”

While talking to reporters Hembrom, “I’m feeling extremely good after joining the BJP.”

Soon after joining the saffron brigade Hembrom like Champai also highlighted Bangladeshi infiltration in Santhal Pargana region and mentioned that he has plans to protect interest of the tribals and the natives in the state.
