Excise officials destroys 3 liquor dens, 45k liter Java Mahua� seized

Jamshedpur, July 13: Excise Department along with Jamshedpur Police on Wednesday raided hurlung busti in Birsanagar and cracked down on three liquor dens and destroyed 2000 liter country liquor.

Arvind Kujur, assistant commissioner (Excise) led the raid and recovered 20 drums containing 45 thousand liter raw materials including Java Mahua and Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL),�used to prepare liquor.

Police took the drums along with raw material to excise police station. Other raw materials were also recovered by the police. All the three owners of the liquor dens managed to escape the spot.

Later, Arvind Kujur said, the liquor dens were stationed in the middle of the forest and case will be registered against the three owners Ramu Mahato, Dukhu Mahato and Mukru Mahato.

He informed that the locals of the area became aggressive when police tried to raid the area which is the reason the excise department officers always face difficulty while raiding the area.

Also part of the raiding team were three vehicles of PCR, police officers of Telco, Birsanagar and Govindpur along with several officers of the excise department.
