Jamshedpur, May 9: In a recent crackdown, the Jamshedpur Excise Department conducted surprise raids in the Bistupur area, targeting hotels and dhabas along the highway bordering Odisha. The operation resulted in the seizure of 8 liters of beer from various establishments.
According to sources within the Excise Department, these raids were prompted by the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Acting on instructions from the Assistant Excise Commissioner, departmental officers carried out surprise inspections in several areas, including Tiring, Rasunchopa, Haldipokhar, Potka police station, and Bistupur in Jamshedpur.
The targeted locations, which included hotels and dhabas, were thoroughly searched during the raids. As a result, 8 liters of beer were confiscated. The Excise Department is now preparing to take further legal action against the offenders. A case will be registered, and appropriate measures will be implemented to address this violation
