Ex-servicemen demand withdrawal of FIR against Army

Jamshedpur, Jan. 4: Former ex-servicemen under the banner of Poorva Sainik Parishad on Sunday took to streets to oppose the lodging of FIR against the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir. People in large number joined the rally taken out at Sakchi and shouted slogans the Jammu and Kashmir police who filed FIR against army personnel after the death of civilians in Shopian firing.

The ex-servicemen termed the FIR as an attempt to undermine the importance of the Army, they said the Prime Minister and the defence minister should order the J& K government to withdraw all cases lodged against the Army. They demanded that FIR registered against army should be withdrawn and case be registered against youth, who pelted stones on Army convoy in Shopian last week.

City-based outfit Poorva Sainik Parishad appealed all people to continue their support towards the Army in its endeaour to keep the country clean.
Present on the occasion were Ashok Vajpayee, Tapas Majumdar, Satyendra Singh, Deepak Sarkar, Rajesh Pandey, Avdhesh Kumar, Jasbi Singh and others.
