Ex-MLA Arvind Singh for judicial probe into Sadhucharans health

Former legislator to move HC, accuses the Ichagarh MLA of evading arrest

Jamshedpur: Former MLA Arvind Singh on Thursday said he would move the Jharkhand High Court to demand a judicial probe into the health status of the Ichagarh MLA Sadhucharan Mahato arrested yesterday for allegedly beating a land revenue officer, Deepu Kumar, recently in Seraikela-Kharsawan.

A judicial probe should be conducted to find out the actual health status of the Ichagarh MLA. This is not the first time when the legislator has got admitted in the hospital after being accused of serious criminal offences. He should have been admitted to a government hospital. This is the third time when this has happened, said the former MLA.

Prior to his arrest, Mahato got admitted to Tata Main Hospital while complaining of bad health. Police had been searching for him for the last several days ever since FIR was lodged against him. An arrest warrant was also issued against the legislator after which the district police had intensified search for him.

Mahato is accused of assaulting the land revenue officer and obstructing government work along with his 150 supporters in Raghunathpur village of Nimdih on 22nd February last. The incident led members of Jharkhand Administrative Services Association members to go on agitation all over Kolhan and demand arrest of the legislator.
