BIT Mesra marks Hindi Day with Poetry, Tributes, and Cultural Performances

 

Ranchi, Jan 12: Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra celebrated Hindi Day with an engaging cultural programme featuring student performances and reflections on the language’s literary and global significance. The event was jointly organized by the Rajbhasha Prakoshth and the Literary Society of the institute.

The programme was attended by Dr. Praveen Srivastava, Dean of Student Affairs; Dr. Peeyush Tiwari, Hindi Officer, Rajbhasha Prakoshth; Dr. Amit Tiwari, Deputy Hindi Officer; and Dr. Dev Mani Pandey, Professor of Biotechnology.

The celebrations began with a moving tribute to eminent Hindi writer Late Shri Vinod Kumar Shukla Ji, who passed away in December 2025. In his address, Dr. Praveen Srivastava emphasized the continuing relevance of Hindi in contemporary society and encouraged students to preserve and promote the language.

Dr. Peeyush Tiwari spoke on Hindi’s growing global influence and its role as a bridge between cultures. The highlight of the programme was a series of student recitations of renowned Hindi poems, which reflected both literary excellence and a deep emotional connection with the language.

The event concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming Hindi’s enduring richness and importance in the 21st century.
