Every district of Jharkhand to have PPP mode police patrolling: DGP

Jamshedpur, Sept 12: Every district of the state will have PPP mode police patrolling so that police jawans can reach the incident spot within five minutes of receiving information in dial 100, said Jharkhand DGP DK Pandey while launching PPP mode Augmented City Surveillance and Response Capability initiative for better policing in Jamshedpur.

He said that the patrolling system is running in Ranchi and Bokaro with the help of Chamber. The facility in Jamshedpur started with the help of Tata Steel.

DGP demanded 200 PCR van from Tata Steel and said that Tata Steel should fix up the 100 number facilities and install CCTV cameras at every city intersection and crowded places to make Jamshedpur crime free.

“We have plans to make every district of the state crime free and make police system in the state like Europe and America.

Before I took over as DGP of Jharkhand dial 100 facility was impaired and after I took over I fixed up the 100 no. issue”.

DGP further said, Ranchi and Bokaro chamber have helped in running of PCR vans in both the districts, Chamber of Commerce in Jamshedpur should also take up the initiative and provide PCR van to district police so that policing can improve here.

Talking about the new initiative in Jamshedpur, DGP said, we selected up 46 boys from Jamshedpur and Adityapur and trained them with operation and surveillance.

PPP mode is for the welfare of people of Jamshedpur. He further said that our first task is to improve the police response in the state and Jamshedpur but we have miles to go and are struggling to link all the city of Jharkhand.
Tata Steel VP (Corporate Services) Sunil Bhaskaran said, this is a unique initiative which will take policing to a new level while there would be far more intense policing in Jamshedpur from now on.

Earlier Tata Steel provided 20 GPS enabled motorcycles to district police. In the bikes Jawans of Tata Steel Security department and district police jawan will patrol together.

The facility was jointly flagged of by DGP DK Pandey and Tata Steel VP (Corporate Services) Sunil Bhaskaran in presence of IG MS Bhatia, DIG, SSP Anoop T Mathew, City SP Chandan Jha, Seraikela SP Inderjeet Matha, Chaibasa SP Michael Raj and Tata Steel officials.
