Jamshedpur: The Tata-Ranchi National Highway (NH-33) is probably the only road in the country, which has not been completed even after 15 years.
All political parties agitated for this but in vain. Once upon a time, Japanese entrepreneurs also joined the dharna along with Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry.Eventually they even withdrew investment from the company operating here. This road from Dimna Chowk to Pardih Chowk has become so poor that even walking has become difficult.
The condition of NH 33 from Pardih to Dimna Chowk is very bad and pathetic. The roads are in a dilapidated condition and due to rain the entire road is covered with mud. There are even big dangerous potholes everywhere. Due to slippery and large potholes, the chances of accidents have increased significantly. People travel on the roads with their lives in their palms. The shopkeepers and residents of this area are troubled by mud in the rain and heavy dust and soil on other days.
At present, work is going on the proposal to build an elevated corridor between these two chowks. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has assured MP Bidyut Baran Mahto for this that a decision will be taken on this within a week. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
A delegation led by BJM Ulidih Divisional President Praveen Singh visited the road condition of NH 33 from Pardih to Dimna Chowk and took stock of the situation. During the visit Ulidih Mandal General Secretary Press Saxena, Indu Shekhar Singh, Abhijit Senapati, Manoj Gupta etc. were present. In this regard, BJM leader Praveen Singh said that the construction of elevated corridor from National Highway NH 33 Baliguma to Pardih Kali Mandir is proposed, but the work of NH construction has been stuck for a long time.
The failure of the contractor in the previous government came to the fore. There was only political rhetoric in the name of NH construction, but no work was done on the ground, due to which the people of Mongo have to bear the brunt. In the past, during the Raghubar government of the BJP, the construction of NH became only a political agenda. Despite the existence of the BJP government at the Center and in the state, no work was done on the ground. Due to which the Jharkhand High Court, taking suo motu cognizance, filed a public interest litigation in the matter of NH construction.
Even at present, the work of NH construction is going on very slow due to which the hopes of the local people are being shattered. The BJM leader has appealed to the Deputy Commissioner for the safety of the passengers as well as to take necessary steps for the repair of the road. They have warned that if the work of NH construction does not speed up, then along with the people of Mango, BJM will agitate by descending on the NH.
