Jamshedpur: Security forces comprising West Singhbhum police and CRPF have recovered explosives under Toklo police station area on Sunday.
Chaibasa police had received secret information that Maoists planted an IED bomb near Surpura culvert on the main road going from Keeda to Padampur under Toklo police station area to harm the security forces.
Taking necessary action on verification of information, raids were conducted by a joint team of Chaibasa Police and CRPF 60 Battalion.
During the search operation, following the SOP by the team of CRPF and the security forces, two pipe bombs of 40-40 kg and one 20 kg bomb were recovered which were duly destroyed by the BDS team at the same place.
Cases have been registered against Naxalites in Toklo police station in this regard. Naxalites had planted IED bombs with the aim of harming the security forces in Podhaat and Tokla area.
Naxalites are observing Martyrs Week Day from 28 July to 3 August. During the martyrdom day, Naxalites can carry out any type of major incident. In view of this apprehension, a high alert has been issued by the Police Head Quarter.
