Environment awareness campaign launched

Jamshedpur: A weeklong environment awareness campaign was launched by United Forum for Health and Environment beginning 5th June on the occasion of World Environment Day and culminating today. United Forum for Health & Environment is engaged in providing Free Education among Slum Children, Senior Citizens Entertainment, Free Health Clinics, Develop SHG�s Eco-Project and Awareness Campaign to Ladies and Elders.

During the week, various events were organized. They included �save earth, save forest�, recycling of polythene packets, proper use of waste, rainwater harvesting, tree plantation, making of jewelry by unused paper and a sit and draw competition for local children.

The campaign started with �save forest�, Recycling of polythene packets, Proper use of Wastage, Rain Water Harvesting amongst senior citizen and kids at Vivekananda Humanity Centre, Birsanagar, Zone No. 6 Pawan Marwah, Chairperson of United Forum for Health & Environment along with its President Meena Mukherjee, Souvik Saha, Ram Kripal Singh, S.N.Singh took the awareness sessions.

Rituparna Roy with the coordination of P.Padma and Chandana Bhattacharjee trained the students on Making Jewellery from unused paper. Sit and draw competition were held for school children with topic Save Earth which were later judged by K Uma and Souvik Saha and today on the concluding day the children were counselled on the importance of trees in life and planting of saplings and to ensure survival of each tree which they planted.

The campaign was supported by senior citizens Ram Kirpal Singh, S.N Singh, Hari Singh, Kartik Singh and Forum members Chandana Bhattacharjee, K Uma, Medha, Puja.
