Jamshedpur: Under the directives of District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, a one-day training program was conducted for part-time enumerators of the district under the Sample Registration System (SRS). The training took place in the auditorium of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee and aimed to enhance the enumerators’ efficiency in vital statistics collection.
The session was led by Deputy Director of Census Operations Directorate, Jharkhand, Parnalekha Das Gupta, along with Statistical Investigator Grade I, Vivek Kumar, and Statistical Investigator Grade II, Birendra Kumar Gupta. The training focused on the significance of the Sample Registration System and provided detailed guidance on registering births and deaths through a dedicated mobile app.

District Statistical Officer Sudipt Raj highlighted the responsibilities assigned to the enumerators. He emphasized the importance of accurate data collection and timely submission of reports through the SRS app. Participants were also instructed on report preparation and the procedures for online submissions to ensure seamless operations.
Assistant Statistical Officer Binita Minj and Rajesh Soreng, along with other personnel from the District Statistical Office, were present to support the training initiative.
The Sample Registration System is a critical tool in monitoring vital statistics such as birth and death rates, which form the basis for policymaking and planning at both district and state levels. The training program is expected to improve data accuracy and ensure effective implementation of the system in Jamshedpur.
