Jamshedpur to host Rotary Youth Leadership Awards from Jan 17-19

Jamshedpur, Jan 16: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West is set to host the much-awaited Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) 2025, themed “Pankh,” a three-day residential camp aimed at nurturing leadership, empathy, and collaboration among the youth. Scheduled from January 17-19, 2025, at Kerala Public School, Kadma, Jamshedpur, the program promises to be a transformative experience for over 150 participants, including 15-20 schoolchildren from Bihar and Jharkhand.

This year’s RYLA slogan, “Leadership through empathy, collaboration, and celebration,” reflects Rotary’s commitment to cultivating future leaders with the skills and compassion to make a positive impact in their communities.

The opening day will set the tone with an inspiring keynote speech by Sourav Roy, Head of Tata Steel Foundation, and motivational insights from Past District Governor (PDG) Rotarian Pratim Banerjee. District Governor Rotarian Rajan Gangotra and District Governor Elect Rotarian Preeti Saini will also address the gathering.

The day will include sessions on effective communication and leadership, concluding with an engaging ice-breaking session led by Rotarian Anjani Nidhi and an evening DJ night.

The second day will begin with a soul-nurturing session and feature a thought-provoking discussion on the “Balance Sheet of Life” by Rotarian Dr. Amit Mukherjee. Participants will engage in leadership talks, group activities, and a session on “Lakshya” by Rotarian Sandeep Narang.

A highlight of the day will be the Shramdaan activity, a community service initiative combined with interpersonal skill-building in a village setting, led by Rotarian Anjani Nidhi. The evening will feature a cultural performance competition judged by Rotarians Veena Mundra, Sumit Kumar, and Abhijeet Mitra, with prizes for the top presentations.

The final day will celebrate the participants’ leadership journey with certificate distribution and special honors. Inspirational talks by Pragya Singh, Principal of Karnal Arora DAV School, and Jharkhand’s renowned cricketer Saurabh Tiwari will leave the participants motivated and inspired.

RYLA District President Rotarian Anjani Nidhi, along with Host Club President Rotarian Dr. Amit Mukherjee and Program Chair Rotarian Sharat Chandran, has worked tirelessly with the organizing committee to make this event a success.

This collaborative effort with Kerala Public School Jamshedpur will feature interactive workshops, leadership exercises, and community engagement activities. The event aims to boost participants’ confidence, enhance teamwork, and instill values of compassion and service.
