Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive 2025 at Karim City College

Jamshedpur: The Innovation Council of Karim City College, in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur, organized the Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive 2025 on Tuesday. The event aimed to inspire students toward business and social entrepreneurship.

The session featured two eminent speakers — Prem Prakash Dayal, Vice President of Jozode Company, and Gaurav Anand, Founder of the NGO Swachhta Pukare. Addressing the students, both speakers shared valuable insights into entrepreneurial thinking and social responsibility.

Speaking as the first resource person, Prem Prakash Dayal emphasized that entrepreneurship begins with stepping out of one’s comfort zone. He highlighted the importance of strong communication skills, networking, and resilience in facing challenges. He urged students to focus on self-improvement rather than complaining about circumstances.

Gaurav Anand, in his address, spoke about the need for compassion and inclusivity in entrepreneurship. He stressed that innovation should aim to balance environmental sustainability with business growth and benefit those at the margins of society.

The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Mohammad Riaz, Principal of Karim City College, followed by an overview of the event’s objectives by Dr. Neha Tiwari, Chairperson of the Innovation Council. The event was conducted by Srujan Khairnar and Daniel Khan, third-semester students of IIT Kharagpur.

Notably, IIT Kharagpur’s Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive is conducted across 25 cities in India, connecting nearly 40,000 students with professionals from the startup and business ecosystem. Members of Karim City College’s Innovation Council will also be invited to the upcoming Entrepreneurship Global Summit in February.

Students from the departments of Mass Communication, Business Administration, Commerce, Arts, and Science attended the session, along with faculty members of the Innovation Council.
