Jamshedpur: In line with the directives of the Election Commission of India, polling and security personnel engaged in the upcoming 45-Ghatshila (ST) Assembly By-Election 2025 will be provided cashless medical treatment in case of any illness or accident during election duty.
To ensure smooth implementation of this facility, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi convened a high-level meeting with managers of government and private hospitals at the Collectorate auditorium. The meeting was attended by Rural Superintendent of Police Rishabh Garg, Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, officials from the District Health Committee, Sub-Divisional Hospitals, CHC in-charges, and representatives from private medical institutions.
Satyarthi emphasized that the health and safety of all personnel involved in the election process remain a top priority for the district administration. He instructed all hospitals to ensure that cashless medical facilities are provided promptly in case of any emergency and that no polling or security official should face delay or financial hurdles in receiving treatment.
The Civil Surgeon was directed to maintain the availability of adequate medicines, equipment, and medical teams in all designated hospitals. Both government and private healthcare facilities have been placed on 24×7 alert mode during the election period, with instructions to maintain direct coordination with the District Control Room and Health Department.
Satyarthi further clarified that after providing cashless treatment, hospitals should submit the bills or invoices to the District Administration for payment after due verification. He warned that strict action will be taken against any hospital found negligent or indifferent in extending the facility.
