Jamshedpur: In anticipation of the New Year celebrations, the Jamshedpur district police have implemented special security arrangements for the next five days, starting from Friday. City SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat disclosed that comprehensive measures are being taken during this five-day period, including anti-crime checks, anti-drunk driving checks, foot patrolling, raids targeting thieves, and special patrols from 11 pm to 6 am at various intervals.

For this initiative, 153 sites and vacant quarters with potential squatting concerns have been identified. In addition to the existing Tiger Mobile personnel, 75 additional bike squads have been formed for surveillance, specifically deployed in crowded city areas. Furthermore, an additional 200 forces will be stationed in the district, accompanied by magistrates at strategic locations.
A specialized bike squad comprising women in plain clothes will patrol the area to enhance women’s safety. Stringent measures will be in place to monitor individuals driving under the influence, with breath analyzers deployed at checkpoints.
City SP Lunayat issued an appeal to families, urging them not to provide vehicles to minors and emphasizing the importance of ensuring that family members do not drive while under the influence. He also urged everyone to celebrate the New Year peacefully and responsibly.
