Chakulia, June 27: A wild elephant broke the wall and gate of the Naga Baba Mandir near the airstrip area of Chakulia Nagar Panchayat. The incident occurred last night, with the elephant damaging the temple wall at two locations. This was not the first occurrence, as the wall had been previously broken by an elephant and had yet to be repaired.
Currently, approximately 25 wild elephants are roaming the airstrip area. In the evenings, these elephants venture into the market area, causing destruction. The disturbance caused by the elephants has made life difficult for residents of the Naya Bazar area of Nagar Panchayat. Scared of the elephants, people have started avoiding going out of their homes after dark.
