Elderly hangs self to death in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 2: An old man who hanged himself in Adityapur succumbed to injuries on Wednesday. Sixty two -year-old Casto Gorai, a resident of Beldih Basti under Adityapur police station, hanged himself in his house on Tuesday afternoon. After getting the information, the people of the settlement, who reached the spot, brought down the old man from the noose. During this he was alive. After this the area was taken to a private nursing home.

When the situation became serious, the doctors referred him to Hospital in Jamshedpur. During treatment, the old man died on Wednesday, about 24 hours after the incident. Wife Lakkhi Gorai told the media that the husband had a desire to drink alcohol. He used to live under stress due to lack of money. It is being said that when the old man hanged himself his wife had gone to get ration. Meanwhile, a young man from the neighborhood went to meet the old man at his house. After this the people around came to know about it. Even before the arrival of the wife, the neighbors took the old man from the noose and admitted him to the nearby Gangotri Nursing Home. Seeing the situation not improving, the doctors of the nursing home sent the old man to Jamshedpur on Tuesday itself. After the death of the old man on Wednesday, the police team reached the hospital. The body was taken in possession and sent for post-mortem.
