Chakulia, Jan 2: The New Year 2025 has brought a major gift for the residents of Chakulia and the surrounding district—a stunning ecological park nearing completion on Amlagoda Road, adjacent to Chakulia town. Spread across 78 hectares, the park is being developed by the Forest Department at a cost of ₹20 crore. Once complete, it is expected to become a major tourist attraction in Jharkhand.

Forest Ranger Digvijay Singh shared, “We aim to complete the park’s construction within the next two months. Work is progressing at a rapid pace.” Officials claim the park will be the most beautiful ecological park ever built by the state government, promising to draw significant tourist interest and boost local tourism.

The park will feature a variety of attractions, including a beautiful flower garden, velvety green lawns, a rose garden, rock and light fountains, a swimming pool, a boating club, a maze, and specialized areas such as a children’s park, senior citizens’ park, and selfie points. Additional highlights include a treehouse, lily pond, gazebo, and a cafeteria. To maintain greenery, five borewells have been drilled, and a water supply system has been laid across the park.

A religious aspect adds further appeal, with a grand Shiva Kundli and a Chhath Ghat under construction. These features will provide facilities for religious worship and enhance the park’s cultural significance.

MLA Sameer Mohanty of Baharagora described the project as a personal ambition. “Amlagoda Park is my dream. It will give a new identity to Chakulia and attract tourists,” he stated.

Future plans for the park include the construction of a resort, for which a Rs. 10 crore proposal has already been submitted to the government. The resort will cater to tourists by offering accommodation and destination marriage facilities. “This initiative will not only promote tourism but also generate revenue for the region,” an official remarked.

With most attractions nearing completion, visitors have already started exploring the site. Upon full launch, the park is expected to significantly enhance the district’s reputation as a tourist destination and provide new recreational opportunities for locals.
