Jamshedpur, April 7: Residents of East Singhbhum have emerged as the second-largest beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state, with a total of 1,66,078 people availing its benefits thus far. Ranchi leads the state with over 2.68 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme.
In terms of Ayushman card enrollment, East Singhbhum also secures the second position, with 8,38,897 individuals obtaining Ayushman cards to date. Ranchi, with 12.28 lakh cardholders, tops this category.
Regarding hospitals affiliated with the Ayushman Yojana, East Singhbhum ranks second with 46 hospitals. However, seven of these hospitals have been inactive since their registration, with no patients treated so far. Of the remaining hospitals, five have been active for the past six months, treating the majority of patients.
Despite the scheme’s benefits, obtaining an Ayushman card has proven challenging for many individuals, with an average of 1800 people applying daily over the past five days. Under Ayushman Bharat, families receive free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.
In contrast, districts such as Khunti, Simdega, Pakur, Jamtara, and Latehar are lagging behind in utilizing the scheme’s benefits, with residents facing challenges in accessing healthcare services provided under Ayushman Bharat.
