Jamshedpur, May 30: East Singhbhum has performed better than its neighbours- West Singhbhum and Seraikela- Kharswan.
In matric this year East Singhbhum has scored a pass percentage of 67.91 per cent as compared to 69.45 per cent last year and 72.5 per cent in 2015. While West Singhbhum has scored 60.24 as compared to 60.61 per cent last year and 69. 38 per cent in 2015; Seraikela-Kharswan achieved a pass percentage of 52.51 per cent. Seraikela had scored 62 per cent in 2016 and 67.72 per cent in 2015.
Students from East Singhbhum district performed the best among the 24 districts in the state by securing a pass percentage of 67.95. Capital Ranchi bagged the second position with a pass percentage of 65.91.
Intermediate science has recorded 42.12 per cent passing in East Singhbhum; 48.97 per cent in West Singhbhum and 41.77 per cent in Seraikela-Kharswan. Commerce is still better with a pass percentage of 69.66 in East Singhbhum; 64.95 per cent in West Singhbhum and 42.59 per cent in Seraikela-Kharswan.
” In intermediate, the reason for poor result is lack of science teachers. For 139 schools there are only 27 science teachers and that always takes a toll on the results,” said East Singh district education officer (DEO), R.K.P. Singh.
The East Singhbhum district had put special emphasis on teacher’s training and students grooming .
