East Singhbhum district to introduce drone-assisted farming with training for farmers

Jamshedpur: In a significant stride towards agricultural innovation, East Singhbhum district is set to leverage drone technology for farming activities as part of the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Drones will be employed for the precise and efficient spraying of pesticides and urea in the fields.

This initiative aims to facilitate the spraying of fertilizers in a variety of crops, including potato, pea, wheat, maize, mustard, and pigeon pea, enhancing agricultural practices in the region. The district administration has planned comprehensive training sessions for farmers to familiarize them with the use of drones in farming.

The training schedule is as follows:
Baharagora: November 29 to December 10
Chakulia: December 11 to December 21
Dhalbhumgarh: December 22 to December 26
Dumariya: December 27 to December 31
Ghatshila: December 28 to January 7
Gudabandha: January 8 to January 11
Musabani: January 12 to January 22
Urban Areas: January 23 to January 26
Additionally, specific training sessions will be conducted in different regions:
Bodam: November 29 to December 4
Jamshedpur: December 5 to December 31
Potka: January 1 to January 16
Patmada: January 17 to January 22
Urban Areas: January 23 to January 26

The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) will play a crucial role in providing information and training about drone technology to the farmers. Mithlesh Kalindi, the District Agriculture Officer, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the vision of a Developed India and marks a significant step toward the integration of advanced agricultural practices in the district. The implementation of drone-assisted farming is scheduled to commence shortly, fostering technological advancements in agriculture for increased productivity and efficiency.
