Jamshedpur, Sept 14: The Durga Vahini-Matri Shakti, in a press conference at Tulsi Bhawan, Bistupur, urged all Dandiya organizers in Jamshedpur to prohibit the entry of non-Hindus during Navratri celebrations. The group alleged that in past years, incidents had surfaced where non-Hindu youths, under the guise of false identities, targeted Hindu girls in the name of ‘Love Jihad’ and engaged in objectionable activities. They stressed that such incidents would not be tolerated this time.
The organization appealed to all Durga Puja Committees to conduct rituals strictly as per Sanatan Dharma. They emphasized that the inauguration of Puja pandals should be performed in traditional Vedic style with Shriphal and mantras, rather than ribbon-cutting ceremonies. Further, they urged that obscene film songs be avoided in pandals, and participants must refrain from consuming intoxicants before joining immersion processions.
Durga Vahini and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad also requested that all puja material be purchased from Hindu vendors to support their livelihoods and spread festive joy. With the festive seasons of Navratri, Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Dipawali, and Chhath approaching from September 22, the organization called for collective responsibility in upholding Hindu traditions.
The press conference was attended by VHP Jamshedpur Vice President Sabita Singh, Mahanagar Durga Vahini Coordinator Sudha Johri, co-coordinators Jyotsna Sarkar, Manushree, Archana Singh, and several other members. (w/gsd)
