Durand Cup Trophies to be showcased in Jamshedpur

Showcasing at Jubilee Park, Tatanagar Station, P&M Mall and More

Jamshedpur, July 6: The historic Durand Cup returns to Jamshedpur for the second consecutive year as the three 134th IndianOil Durand Cup trophies get showcased at the XLRI Auditorium here on Monday (July 07, 2025), in the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including the Governor of the State of Jharkhand, Santosh Gangwar, who will be Chief Guest at the event. The trophies then embark on a city wide roadshow that will extend to the next day. Jamshedpur hosted the prestigious Durand Cup successfully for the first time last year.

Besides the Governor, the occasion will also be graced by Sudivya Kumar, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand; Ramdas Soren, Minister of School Education and Literacy, Government of Jharkhand; Lt Gen Mohit Malhotra, AVSM, SM, Chief of Staff HQ Eastern Command and Chairman DCOC and DB Sundara Ramam, Vice President-Corporate Services, Tata Steel.

The three revered trophies—the original Durand Cup, the Shimla Trophy (donated by the citizens of Shimla in 1904), and the President’s Cup (retained permanently by the winners) will be ceremonially unveiled.

The unveiling of the trophies will be followed by some soul-stirring national and regional folk performances, including Bhangra, Santhali Dance, and the traditional Chhau Dance, performed by local artists.

The three trophies will then travel through key city landmarks, including Mango Bus Stand, Sakchi Circle, and JUSCO Circle, before being displayed at the JRD TATA Sports Complex, which will be hosting the matches. Later, the trophies will also showcased at Bistupur Square.

The Trophy tour will resume on 8th July from Jubilee Park at 6 AM and will be on display at the Tata Motors from 9 AM to 11 AM. The trophy will be displayed at the Tatanagar Railway Station from 12 Noon for three and a half hours before it moves on to the P&M Mall which will be the final destination of the tour where the fans and general public across the city can witness the grandeur of the oldest football tournament in Asia.
