Holds AGM in Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur, July 6: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Masters Athletics Association of Jharkhand was held on Sunday at the Recreation Club in Telco, Jamshedpur. The meeting was presided over by Association President and former athlete Gurdev Singh. General Secretary and international athlete S.K. Tomar presented a detailed report on the association’s past year activities and outlined upcoming programs. The proceedings were conducted by S.K. Sharma, while the vote of thanks was delivered by former player K.G. Shashi Dharan.

A major focus of the meeting was the upcoming Asian Masters Athletics Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in November in Chennai. Discussions emphasized ensuring strong representation from Jharkhand in this prestigious international event. Plans were also discussed for state-level competitions in the coming months.
The AGM saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including Association President Vijay Singh, prominent social worker and businessman Balveer Singh, former international player Jujhar Singh, Manik Chatterjee, Veerdhan Marandi, Rampravesh Pandey, Hussaini Lohra, and Mahesh Dhobi, who all contributed valuable suggestions.
Representatives from ten districts participated in the meeting, including East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, and Bokaro.
Highlighting Jharkhand’s growing role in athletics, it was also announced that S.K. Tomar has been entrusted with a special responsibility in the organizing committee of the Asian Master Athletic Championship 2025, acknowledging his leadership and contribution to the sport.
