Durand Cup: Jamshedpur FC eye consistency against Indian Army FT

Jamshedpur, July 28: Jamshedpur FC will look to build on their winning start when they face Indian Army Football Team on Monday, July 29, at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. After a spirited 3-2 win over Tribhuvan Army FC, Khalid Jamil’s side knows the importance of carrying momentum into their second group game.

But this one is far from straightforward. Last year JFC let a 2-0 first-half lead slip against Indian Army, eventually losing 3-2 in a dramatic second-half collapse.

Khalid Jamil, speaking ahead of the clash, was full of respect for the opponents. ”Yes, they’re a strong side. We faced them last year and lost after being two goals up, so we know exactly what they’re capable of.

They have quality players, and their coach has built a very disciplined unit. We can’t take them lightly. We have to stay focused for the full 90 minutes and do everything we can to get a positive result,” he said.

Jamshedpur’s young squad impressed in their opener, with Nikhil Barla, Manvir Singh, and Sarthak Golui all getting on the scoresheet. New signings, Vincy Barretto, Praful Kumar, and Jayesh Rane rose to the expectations. The home crowd, close to 18,000 strong, added fuel to a fast-paced performance.

With a young squad showing hunger and energy, the focus now shifts to maintaining intensity across both halves. The Army team, known for their physicality and never-say-die attitude, won’t give anything away cheaply.

Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM. Entry will be free and will be first come first serve basis. The match will be telecast on the Sony Sports Network. The match will also be livestreamed on the SonyLiv app and website.

Free entry for 11,400 fans at Jamshedpur FC vs Indian Army Durand Cup Clash on July 29

Jamshedpur, July 27: In a much-anticipated Durand Cup group stage fixture with Indian Army FT and Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on July 29 at 4 PM, the entry for fans will be free, subject to specific conditions to ensure safety and orderly seating.

The stadium gates will open two hours before kick-off, and fans are encouraged to arrive early. The seating will be on a first come, first serve basis, with only 11,400 spectators to be allowed into the venue. To manage this, three stands will be open to the public, East Lower, East Upper, and the South Stand.

The organisers have also issued clear guidelines for fan movement and entry points. Access to the stadium will be permitted only through Gates 4, 5, 6, and 7 on Straight Mile Road. Fans will be first directed to the East Lower Stand, which can accommodate 4,200 spectators. Once it reaches capacity, entry will shift to the East Upper Stand with 3,200 seats, followed by the South Stand, which can hold 4,000 fans.

Importantly, no physical or digital tickets will be required for this match. Entry will be strictly regulated, and once all three stands are filled, further admission will be prohibited.

Jamshedpur FC has urged supporters to follow the instructions of the security and volunteer staff at the venue, and to arrive early to avoid disappointment. The club is expecting a strong turnout for what promises to be a high-octane fixture in the historic Durand Cup.
