Driver killed, 28 passengers injured as bus rams into stationery trailor in Baharagora

Jamshedpur, Feb 9: Driver of a long distance bus was killed and nearly 28 passengers were injured in a mishap as the bus rammed into a stationary trailer near Kesharda village along NH-18 under Baharagora thana area on Monday late night.

According to report, there were 61 passengers in the bus including the driver, most of them tourists from Bengal when it rammed into a stationery trailor at around 12.45 am. Baharagora police with help of locals immediately rushed the injured to the community health centre in Baharagora while the driver was stuck in the bus and had to be extracted with much difficulty and had died on the spot. 

According to report, those who have sustained in mouth, head, legs include Ajmal Mallick, Sudip Dutta Sarkar, Shahnaz Mallick, Rupika Mallick, Asdal Mallick, Subroto Pad and Akmal Mallick while other passengers have sustained minor injuries. 

While two passengers who were critically injured namely Ansari Begum and Rafika Mallick have been admitted in MGM Medical College and Hospital in Jamshedpur for treatment. Few passengers have been taken to nearby Jhargram hospital in Bengal for better treatment. 

According to a passenger Sheikh Hafizul, the bus with tourist had left Bagnan in Kolkata for Netarhat in Latehar at around 6.30 pm and after eating at 11 pm ain Chichra in Bengal they had arrived in Baharagora when the mishap took place.
