Jamshedpur, Sept 7: The 23rd Senior Jharkhand State Ball Badminton Championship for men and women concluded on Sunday at Agrico Transport Ground, Jamshedpur. The two-day event saw enthusiastic participation from players across six districts.
The championship was organized in a league-cum-knockout format. In the men’s category, East Singhbhum emerged as the champion, defeating West Singhbhum, which finished as runner-up. Giridih secured the third position. In the women’s section, East Singhbhum once again clinched the title, while West Singhbhum came second and Dhanbad team secured third place.

The closing ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including District Council member Bari Murmu, former District Council Vice President Rajkumar Singh, former BJP District Presidents Dinesh Kumar and Gunjan Yadav, and Tata Steel Union Works President Sanjeev Choudhary. Sidhgora Police Station Incharge and Shyam Sharma were also present.

The organizing committee included Jharkhand State Ball Badminton General Secretary Majji Ravi Kumar, Organizing Secretary G. Sanyasi Rao, Vice President Shankar Reddy, Joint Secretary V. Shiva Rao, Treasurer Maninder Nath Das, along with several international players such as Birendra Kumar Mishra, Sandeep Matti, Uttam Kumar Nath, Manish Kumar, K. Yuva Kumar, and others, who contributed to the success of the event.
All winning teams were felicitated with trophies and mementos for their achievements.
The championship also served as a platform to identify talented players for the upcoming 71st Senior National Ball Badminton Championship to be held in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, from September 25 to 28. The selection process for the Jharkhand team will be announced soon, and the list of top performers from the state championship will be finalized shortly.
