Today, BLOs reached out to households, verifying voter details meticulously. The verification process was supervised by all ROs and AEROs to ensure thoroughness and accuracy. District Election Officer Mittal has instructed BLOs to remove voters who have shifted, duplicate entries, and deceased voters from the list, in accordance with the rules and by matching with the ASD list prepared during the allocation of voter information slips. Furthermore, voters still holding old laminated voter ID cards are to be issued new colored voter ID cards.

In addition to removing outdated entries, the BLOs were also tasked with adding any eligible voters who had been previously omitted. This comprehensive approach ensures that all eligible voters are included in the list.

Mittal emphasized the urgency of the revision process, given the approaching assembly elections. He directed all AROs and AEROs to conduct regular reviews of the special voter list revision program within their respective areas to expedite the process. BLO supervisors were also instructed to visit each household to verify the work completed by the BLOs. They are required to physically verify 20 percent of the houses and affix stickers provided by the Election Commission on the verified residences.
To ensure compliance, the District Election Officer announced that he would conduct surprise inspections to verify if the stickers have been appropriately placed on the houses. This rigorous verification process is a crucial step in ensuring a clean and accurate voter list for the forthcoming elections.
