Jamshedpur, July 6: The BJP Sundarnagar Mandal staged a demonstration on Saturday near the Durga Puja ground by the Karandih railway gate, demanding the immediate construction of the Karandih to Parsudih main road and addressing other public interest issues. Party officials and workers voiced their support for the demands and raised slogans during the protest.
Following the demonstration, the participants proceeded to the block office and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Deputy Commissioner to BDO Dr. Sudha Verma, outlining their demands. The BDO was informed that the main road from Karandih Chowk to Shitla Chowk Parsudih had been dug up for pipeline and electricity wire installation but was only refilled with soil, resulting in frequent accidents. Additionally, the drain in front of the old tehsil office in North Karandih Panchayat had been blocked for an extended period, causing water to overflow onto the road.
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission Rural Drinking Water Scheme, water connections provided to houses or across the road were leaking at many places. Unauthorized vehicle parking and bus stops at Karandih Chowk were leading to daily traffic jams, causing significant inconvenience to commuters. The BJP warned that if these issues were not addressed promptly, they would be forced to launch a massive movement.
Among the protestors were Subodh Jha, Upendranath Sardar, Kusum Purty, Gajendra Singh, Vivek Trivedi, Abhay Choubey, Ishwar Soren, Shambhu Dey, CD Prasad, Somnath Chakraborty, Motu Singh, Sonu Sharma, Janata Sardar, Hariram Tiwari, Geeta Shringari, Kalpana Poddar, Mithu Bhumij, Niwas Sardar, Vijay Vishwakarma, Santosh Sharma, and Raj Mukhi.
