Jamshedpur, October 6: Health and Food Supply Minister Banna Gupta officially inaugurated the Swarnarekha Domuhani Sangam Ghat, dedicating it to the people of Jamshedpur.

The ceremony was attended by his wife, Sudha Gupta, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, Rama Khalko, and other dignitaries.

The event featured a grand Swarnarekha Aarti performed by 11 priests from Kashi’s Assi Ghat, led by Pandit Acharya Mohit. The devotional atmosphere was enhanced by local singers Abhishek Pathak and Nidhi Mishra, who entertained the gathered devotees with stirring bhajans.

Minister Gupta described the Domuhani Gate as a symbol of social harmony, highlighting the juxtaposition of Lord Shiva on one side and the culturally significant Tusu Ghat on the other.

A life-size statue of Lord Birsa Munda embodied the heritage and faith of Jharkhand, while statues of Shahid Nirmal Mahato, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar reflected the sacrifices and struggles of the region’s history.

In his address, Minister Gupta sought support from the community, stating, “Please support us. There are many changes yet to come at this Sangam Sthal,” and invited everyone to celebrate the upcoming Chhath festival. More than 50,000 devotees attended the event, witnessing the grand festivities surrounding the Swarnarekha Aarti.
