Jamshedpur: Remember the film �Dolly ki Doli?� Well, what happened to C Sriniwas Raju of quarter number 7 in Tinplate Colony was almost similar to the Hindi flick for the wife ran away with the family jewelry. She had done the vanishing act with two other persons earlier.
The mode of operation of this woman is to mesmerize her victim with her beauty, project herself as an unmarried woman then get married to him and later decamp with all the jewelry received in marriage. Sriniwas was the third such victim.
C Sriniwas Raju, son of C Gopal Raju lodged a complaint in the Golmuri PS stating that he had married the woman in 2016 who removed the jewelry from the house in gradual course. On April 5, the woman took away the remaining jewelry and escaped. When Sriniwas enquired about her, he learnt that she had done the same thing with two other persons.
According to Golmuri PS OC Ranvijay Singh, the woman used to project herself as an unmarried woman to unsuspecting eligible persons, marry them and run away with the jewelry received in marriage. Singh said that the gang would be booked soon.
The woman goes by several names. She is sometimes known as B Raju Durga Bhawani and at other times as Nadim Palli Durga Devi. She is the daughter of Satyanarayan Raju and Chandrawati. They are residents of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The complete address as recorded is Sita Niwasi, Achyutapuram Mandal, Kumarapuram, House # 8, Street# 86.
Sriniwas had filed a case against her at Golmuri PS on April 5 stating that she had run away with cash and jewelry from his house. He also mentioned that he was married to B Raju Durga Bhawani in 2016. Sriniwas told OC Ranvijay Singh that after his wife and her mother escaped, he left for their village in Visakhapatnam. On enquiring from locals he came to know that her family was involved in such crimes. �Prior to marrying me, she had married two other persons and had meted out the same fate to them. Being good looking, unsuspecting people fell for her charms,� stated Sriniwas.
