Jamshedpur, April 18: A meeting of Disaster management Authority was convened at the District Collectorate today. Among those present in the meeting were parliamentarian Bidyut Baran Mahto, Baharagora legislator Samir Mahanty, Ghatshila legislator Ramdas Soren, Potka legislator Sanjiv Sardar, Jugsalai legislator Mangal Kalindi, Zila Parishad president Bulu Rani Singh, Parishad vice president Rajkumar Singh and other people�s representatives.
Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla informed the representatives about the beneficial measures adopted for the citizens during the lockdown period. He said that sufficient Chief Minister Didi Kitchens in the district to enable the poor and needy people to have free meals. The DC also stated that the administration was providing essential services in a manner that people were not inconvenienced during the lockdown period.
DC Ravi Shankar Shukla stated that masks and sanitizers were being distributed and fogging was being down in several areas to contain the spread of coronavirus infection. He stated that the district machinery was actively ensuring social distancing at many places.
The MP, MLAs and other people�s representatives in the meeting urged that regular checks be carried out at Didi Kitchens to ensure implementation of hygienic conditions and social distancing were maintained at all such centres.
Baharagora MLA Samir Mahanty pointed out that the primitive tribal families be provided special attention and that they should be provided additional essential commodities along with rice by the district administration.
Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla asked the representatives to provide a detailed list of persons in their respective areas of representations who were in other districts on work or stuck due to lockdown.
In reply to a pointer to granting permission for operating of grocery shops in rural areas, the DC stated that orders had already been passed for opening of such shops during the lockdown period so that people did not face any difficulty in procurement of essential food items.
In reply to a query by Zila Parishad president the Deputy Commissioner informed that the district administration had made provision for availability of cattle fodder in stalls at the Bazaar Samiti and centres for cattle feed had also been activated at all Block levels.
It was unanimously agreed in the meeting that if corona positive case was found in any area of the district then as per government directives, all essential facilities will be provided within three kilo meters radius of that containment area with DMFT funds.
SSP Anoop Birtharay, ADC, DPO and other district officials were also present at the meeting.
