Saraikela, April 18: The Deputy Commissioner of Saraikela-Kharsawan A Dodde chaired a meet today to discuss possibilities of recommencement of industrial production in Adityapur and Gamharia industrial area including units in rural areas manufacturing essential commodities on April 20. The meeting was attended by, among others, Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Ashok Bhalotia, Bharat Vasani and Nitesh Dhut and ASIA chairman Inder Agrawal and Santosh Khetan.
After hearing Ashok Bhalotia and Inder Agrawal, DC A Dodde made it very clear that no industrial unit in Adityapur and Gamharia industrial area would be allowed to function till May 3.
The DC stated that no positive COVID – 19 case had thus far been reported in the Saraikela-Kharsawan and the only reason was that there was no testing facility in the district as a result of which the district administration was put in a difficult position. Under such conditions he said, he could not permit the reopening of industrial units in the urban areas of the district.
Dodde however said that only production units in rural areas manufacturing essential products would be allowed to start production but such units would have to comply with government instructions failing the units would be shut down and legal proceedings initiated.
