Jamshedpur, Sept 22: As part of the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) launched an extensive 100-day awareness campaign and outreach program in the slum settlements of Sonari including areas in Panchvati Nagar, Sidho Kanhu Basti, Jhabri Basti, and Birsa Basti. A mobile DLSA team led by PLV Nagendra Kumar, Ashish Prajapati, and Sadanand Mahato, provided legal information to the residents and explained various government schemes in detail.
During this initiative, door-to-door campaigns were conducted to educate residents about different laws, with a focus on DLSA’s mission, the Child Protection Project, senior citizen rights, domestic violence, child marriage, child labor, human trafficking, substance abuse, and fundamental rights and duties. This effort aimed to empower residents with essential legal knowledge.
Under the guidance of DLSA Secretary, this campaign will extend to the rural areas of every block in the district and continue until December 25, 2023, as part of a concerted effort to raise awareness and promote legal literacy in the region.
