District-Level Agricultural Fair cum Exhibition at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ghatshila

Jamshedpur: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Darisai, Ghatshila, hosted a grand District-Level Agricultural Fair Cum Exhibition, bringing together farmers, public representatives, and agricultural experts. The event saw the participation of Minister of School Education and Literacy Department, Jharkhand, Ramdas Soren, as the Chief Guest, alongside  MLA Baharagora, Samir Kumar Mohanty, District Council Members  Devyani Murmu, Subhash Singh, and  Parvati Munda, along with Project Director ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary and other district officials.
The event was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Ramdas Soren and other dignitaries. In his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the numerous farmer-friendly schemes launched by the Jharkhand Government through the Agriculture Department. He urged farmers to connect with the department to avail the benefits of these initiatives and directed officials to ensure eligible farmers are brought under these schemes. He also emphasized raising awareness about training programs conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Regional Research Centers to inspire more farmers to adopt innovative agricultural practices.
The District Agriculture Officer detailed the objectives of the Kisan Mela and provided insights into various schemes offered by the Agriculture Department and other related departments. Stalls set up by the Agriculture, Horticulture, Land Conservation, Bank, and Cooperative departments provided farmers with information about the schemes and facilitated application submissions.
In a technical session, Najrul Salam, a scientist from the Regional Research Center, educated farmers about Rabi crops and pest and disease management techniques.
The event also recognized excellence among farmers. A total of 90 farmers were awarded certificates for the best specimens in 30 different categories, evaluated by a panel of scientists.
The fair witnessed active participation from District Agriculture Officer  Vivek Birua, District Horticulture Officer Anima Lakra, Deputy Director ATMA Geeta Kumar, ATMA workers, related departmental officials, and a large number of farmers.
