Kalpana to head women, child development committee
Ranchi, January 18: In view of the upcoming special session of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly starting from February 24, Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahato has reorganized 25 committees.
A notification has been issued in this regard by the assembly secretariat.
Some major appointments have been made in the reorganization of the committees.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife and Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren has been appointed as the chairperson of the women and child development committee. With Kalpana Soren getting this responsibility, her work and contribution in the area is being discussed. The committee is significant with the flagship scheme of maiya samman yojana being run under this department.
At the same time, BJP’s Barhi MLA Manoj Kumar Yadav has been made the chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm among BJP workers regarding this appointment.
The role of these committees is considered important in the special session of the Assembly. Many important issues are expected to be discussed during the session, which will include topics related to the development of the state and public welfare.
All the MLAs and members of the concerned committees have been instructed to be ready for the special session.
Incidentally, the budget session of the Jharkhand Assembly has got the approval of Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar last week.
The budget session will start from February 24 and will continue till March 27.
On March 3, the state government will present the budget for the financial year 2025-26 on the table of the Legislative Assembly. This time the budget session will be of 20 days. There will be a holiday for nine days out of the 20 day session.
