Dist Childline organizes open forum at Govt High School

Seraikela, August 30:  The District Childline represented by members Ramchandra Singh Munda, Ajit Kavi and Lakshmi Murmu, organized an open forum at +2 Government High School in Kharsawan Block where students were given detailed information on the 24×7 emergency national helpline number 1098 that is operated in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India under the Integrated Child Protection Scheme and Childline India Foundation for the care and protection of children.

The District Childline members explained, “1098 is a free national emergency phone service for children 24 hours a day. The purpose of the Open House Forum is to help children express themselves and learn about issues affecting children in their localities.”

In order to give the students an opportunity to evaluate their understanding of helpline 1098, a drawing and Rangoli competition was organized at the school for the students. The students showed keen interest in drawing and Rangoli designs. School Principal Manju Kumari Hembram gave away prizes to the top three rankers in the drawing and Rangoli competitions. The other participants were presented consolation prizes.
