Displaced villagers to protest at Brakes India Limited gate on Oct 25

Saraikela, Oct 23: The practice of taking people for a ride by land mafias is not new. This time, the victims were the Birbans villagers who were lured into parting their land in lieu of promises of jobs in the factory proposed to be set up by Infinitive Industrial Park. But the company, instead of setting up its plant sold the grabbed land to three other companies and vanished into the blue. One such company, Brakes India Limited has set up its industry since the past year but is refusing to give jobs to the displaced villagers on the grounds that it had not purchased land from them.

A meeting was convened today wherein the Birbans Panchayat Mukhiya Ghanshyam Harda presided. The BJP district president Uday Singh Dev was present in the meeting.

The BJP district president assured the displaced villagers of being on their side and would definitely take up their cause for attaining justice. He said that the party would write to the Chief Minister and central Minister Arjun Munda and urge them to take up the cause of the duped villagers.

The Birbans villagers unanimously decided to hold a peaceful demonstration in front of the company gate on Friday, October 25 and if this step did not yield any result they would plan the next move. They have already informed the Saraikela-Kharsawan SP, SDO in this connection requesting them to hold the peaceful demonstration before the companys gate. Gram Pradhan Milan Kumar and senior BJP leader Buddheshwar Kumar, Udit Kumar and Siddheshwar Kumar were also present in the meeting.
