Dismissed Telco union leaders stage dharna

Jamshedpur, Jan 29: Dismissed Telco Workers Union leader  Prakash Kumar, Akash Dubey and K. K Shukla staged a demonstration in front of the Tata Motor’s company main gate protesting against whimsical attitude of the company management.

The dismissed leaders started arriving at the company gate at around 11 am but the company security guards and police started persuading them against marching ahead which led to heated arguments. After few hours of protest they submitted a memorandum to the company management through the magistrate deputed by the district administration.

The dismissed leaders accused their dismissal as a conspiracy and demanded it revocation and also accused the management of exploitation of workers.

The other demands of the dismissed trade union leaders included, making all temporary workers permanent, taking back dismissed employees, giving equal nature of job to those who have completed FTA, reinstating life time medical facilities for retired employees, stopping other works at the company plant, preventing line in-charge from harassing employees, abiding the agreement done by Telco Workers Union, providing housing facilities to the employees as is done for officials, making all temporary workers permanent after 240 days of work, introducing give up job and take up job scheme instead of voluntary retirement scheme, giving immediate job for relatives of employees who die in plant during duty and starting dispensary facilities at Govindpur and Bagbera.
